History

The power plant was originally built as a Lignite Coal fired power plant, nearby a Lignite Coal mine. However, due to the closure of the mine, the power plant was redesigned in 1993 to Hard Coal (Anthracite), achieving higher energy efficiency, higher economic operation and lower emissions. In the years 2005 to 2007, the power plant was extensively revamped, especially in the digital control and monitoring system, and NOx, SO2 and CO.
